Born on July 21, 1987, in Durham Regional Hospital, Parker Emmerson has been a lifelong resident of Chapel Hill. At age six, Emmerson began composing piano works. He studied by learning the works of Chopin, Satie, Debussy, Khachaturian and Messiaen. At age eight, he
began composing, citing his influences as John Cage, Tchaikovsky, Steve Reich, Beethoven, and The Beatles.
